1943年に生産が中止された000-42が、スタンダード・シリーズとして復刻されたのは2004年。
その間に起きたギターファンにとっての衝撃的な出来事と言えば、1992年に放送されたエリック・クラプトンの「MTV アンプラグド」だろう。
この放送で使用していた1939年製の000-42が世界中のギターファンを虜にしたのだ。
1995年に発売された000-42EC以降、その人気は衰えることを知らない。
